October 31, 2005 - The Great Rivers Lacrosse Conference (GRLC) announced Brian Mosher as the new GRLC Commissioner after an extensive search and interview process.
"I am looking forward to working with the rest of the executive board. We hope to further develop the GRLC to make this one of the premier conferences in the MDIA," Mosher said.
This search started after the GRLC made a major change in their Executive Board and bylaws back on October 2, 2005 during their annual fall meeting. The GRLC became the first MDIA conference actively seek an outside, professional Commissioner. In this effort, the GRLC has taken the lead nationally and hopes this change will equate into a more efficient and competitive conference.
Mosher will have the responsibility of running the day to day activities of the GRLC and insuring the bylaws of the conference are executed and enforced. He will also represent the GRLC at national USL MDIA and US Lacrosse meetings. Additionally, Mosher is expected to help grow and develop the conference, oversee the GRLC annual budget, supervise eligibility procedures, and manage the compilation of the GRLC master league schedule. Currently, the GRLC spans 11 states and includes 10 Division A teams and 21 Division B teams.
Mosher formerly served as Head Lacrosse Coach at the University of Illinois (1994 - 2001) and also served as a former USL MDIA Vice President. He helped co-create the first ever USLIA Associates National Championship/League (now USL MDIA) back in 1996. Mosher has been involved with lacrosse since 1983 as a player, high school coach, college coach and administrator. He has also helped to establish the University of Illinois Women's Lacrosse Club in 1995 and establish Centennial High School (IL) Lacrosse Club in 2000.
