For Immediate Release

Golden, CO:
The Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Lacrosse League (RMILL) conducted its annual Fall meeting on Saturday, September 21st on the campus of the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. Anton Schulzki was introduced as the new League Assigning Authority for all officials servicing RMILL games. Anton, who hails from Colorado Springs, assumes the role previously occupied by long time RMILL Assignor JD Doyle.

The 2003 RMILL season will see 2 new teams in the Division A ranks as Boise State University and the University of Northern Colorado have moved up to join other top-rated RMILL teams such as perennial national championship contenders, Brigham Young University and Colorado State. "We felt it was appropriate to play up in the league after winning the Division B championship in 2002. While I'm sure we'll experience some growing pains as we compete against the Division A squads, I think it will be a positive step in the long run for BSU," said Tad Arnt (Boise State Head Coach). Additionally, Fort Lewis College (Durango, CO) and Utah Valley State College (Provo, UT) elected to compete in Division B for the 2003 season

The Cougars of Brigham Young University (Provo, UT) were picked by league voters to win the 2003 RMILL Division A Championship, followed closely by the Rams of Colorado State (2002 RMILL Champions.) The University of Colorado (Boulder, CO), University of Utah (Salt Lake, UT), Northern Colorado (Greeley, CO) and Boise State rounded out the Division A voting. In Division B, Utah Valley State College (UVSC) led the voting for the top spot. After competing in Division A in 2002, UVSC is back in the familiar spot as the top dog in Division B. UVSC won the 2000 and 2001 RMILL Division B championships. Fort Lewis and Utah State took the two and three spots respectively. Western Sate College (Gunnison, CO), Colorado School of Mines, Northern Arizona University (Flagstaff) and the University of Southern Colorado (Pueblo) finished off the balloting.

In other league news, Marc Failer is the new Head Coach at Fort Lewis College, Preston Davis has taken the helm for the Bears at Northern Colorado, and George Foster will lead a revamped Northern Arizona squad.
