Dec. 9th, 2005 - 2006 MDIA Division A Preseason Top 25 Poll Presented by Shamrock Lacrosse

Merry Christmas y'all!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Dec. 9, 2005

The preseason MDIA Division A Top 25 Poll Presented by Shamrock Lacrosse has last year's national finalist Sonoma State at the top of the rankings. Shamrock Lacrosse, an innovative lacrosse company based in Hillside, New Jersey is the presenting sponsor for this year's MDIA Division A and Division B Top 25 polls announced bimonthly on USLIA.com again this season.

Sophomore attackman Cito Williams (Offensive MVP of the '05 National Tournament) from San Diego hopes to lead the SSU Seawolves back to the national title game for the 2nd year in a row. Sonoma (2002 national champions) starts their '06 campaign at Cal-Berkeley on February 18th.

Colorado State returns to the rankings at the second slot after a brief absence. The Rams were ineligible to compete at the 2005 National Championship Tournament due to MDIA eligibility violations last Spring.

Two-time defending national champion UCSB fell to third in the preseason rankings after graduating several talented players including 1st team All-America midfielder Will Patton.

Michigan and BYU round out the Top five. Arizona State is the only new program in the Top 25 poll from last spring.

Lacrosse Magazine and Inside Lacrosse's Face-off Yearbook are expected to preview the MDIA season in the upcoming January issues.

The first regular season MDIA Division A Top 25 Poll Presented by Shamrock Lacrosse will be announced on USLIA.com in late February.
