Provo, UT and Timonium, MD (September 15, 2004) -- Brigham Young University men's lacrosse team has accepted an invitation to participate in the 2004 Genesee Valley Fall Lacrosse Classic. The annual fall ball tournament will be held on Saturday, October 9th at the 300-acre Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center in Parkton, MD. Now in its 4th year, the Genesee Valley Classic continues to expand and attract competition from across the nation. Teams tentatively scheduled to participate in the 2004 Classic, along with the Cougars, include the Maryland, Towson, Georgetown, Cornell, Bucknell, and Mount Saint Mary's. Additional teams are also anticipated.

BYU men's lacrosse head coach Jason Lamb commented, "Our fall trip to Syracuse last year was a key component to our early season success last spring. We look to continue to leverage the benefits that come from fall preparation with participation in the Classic." "We'd like to thank Jim Darcangelo at LaxWorld and Tom LaMonica at the Friends School of Baltimore for giving us this opportunity". Prior to the Classic, the Cougars will take on the 2004 NJCAA national champions, CCBC-Essex Knights on Thursday, October 7th at 4:00 PM at the Essex campus in Baltimore.

The trip is sponsored in full by Backers of BYU Lacrosse, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) private foundation and its generous donors, who fund men's lacrosse at Brigham Young University.
